Copy of computer

My IT guy has decided to retire. Over the last 10 years he has set up our whole system. I am able to restore all of the normal programmes like Excel,Access etc but not the specialised ones that have been set up for us. Is there a way of taking a complete back up of the one computer that holds all of these. I want it in case I have a virus/theft.

there is a vast array of backup software on the market, personally i use Norton ghost but many folk have other favourites.

looking at your other question about a second/larger hard-drive i suggest that back up from one hard-drive to another but if theft is a real concern then you will need to back up to CD DVD or DAT depending on what equipment you have or can afford to invest in.

If your IT guy has been working for you for ten years and you don't yet have a backup of all the specialised software and data he has set up for you, he should have been sacked about nine years ago.

Hi - Sorry for the confusion. All of my programmes
are backed up apart from my Psion handheld computer. This is the one causing me the worries. I am going to go and learn how to back it up right now.
