copy and backup windows livemail messages???

  rickd 11:25 16 Jan 2009

How can I create a usable copy of all my livemail messages so I can archive my messages (and as a backup in case my HD dies)?

If I "export" messages, then I simply get a list of files without the titles/addresses etc, just codes, so I don't know who they are from, what they are etc.
Also, it doesn't export messages I've placed in folders in the storage folders.

I have tried putting the livemail storage location into Run, then copying all the files, but this has the same result as exporting.

I have tried dragging and dropping folders from livemail to a copy, but no success.

I have dragged and dropped groups of emails within each folder (one folder at a time!), which nearly works - titles and date, but still no email address, so they are difficult to identify.

There must be a simple way to do this, surely??? With Outlook it was so easy!

Anyone got any bright ideas??

Thanks very much, this does exactly what is required! And it has a search facility and CD burner! Emails are now all safely archived on an external HD and on CD.

You're a star.
