Cookies won't set

Hi All,

Trying to help my sister with a problem that seems to rotate around cookies.

She's on a Wanadoo pay-as-you-go dial-up, using IE6. New lap-top, new installation. All her IE settings match mine, and appear to be correct.

The problem is that some web sites won't work, telling her that her computer won't accept cookies. This seems to be backed up by the fact that she can't change her location on BBCi, etc. I've tried setting IE to accept all cookies, but still no joy.

Any ideas?

TIA.

Rob.

Hi,

Its possible that shes stored some old cookies from previous visits to the site, iv had some similar problems with old cookies causing this problem, try clearning the internet Cache...

In IE goto Tools > Internt Options, the click the Settings button on the right in the middle. The the Show Files button, this will open a window with all your cached info, Just delete it all and try the sites again, and old Misc cookies will be gone, it will force the machine to download them again.

Dunno if it will work but clearning the cache when getting that messege has always worked for me in the past :)

Thanks for the suggestion Brezza, but it didn't help!

Turned out to be a firewall problem.
