cookie file

I have a DAT file in my 'cookie' folder that I am sure is causing problems. Whenever I try to delete it I am told it is 'being used' when in fact it isn't as I close all prog, as it suggests. How do I get rid of these things? Scans say it's ok but I believe it's causuing problems.


I am using WXp by the way.

This program will allow you to analyse the index.dat files (rock singer’s downfall) and then delete anything you don’t want.

VoG, BurrWalnut. I thought CCleaner deletes index.dat including cookies. I used to delete it in DOS in w98SE but hope I am right re CCleaner.

Yes, CCleaner removes it at the next boot.

I have CCleaner but it won't delete it? I will try suggestions. Many thanks guys.
