Cooked processor?

The cooling fan on one of my systems failed and by the feel of it has cooked the processor.

Am I likely to have got away without any further damge to the system,or can I look forward to more expense?

Are you sure the CPU has self destructed? Modern boards have a thermal cut-out, you just may have been lucky! Can you post the make of Board and model of CPU, also have you tried a boot-up with a new fan? j.

Thanks Djohn:

It's a MSI6378 with 1.3 Duron.

Sorry Djohn:

No! I don't have another fan other than borrowing one from another PC.
