Converting videos to play on a regular DVD

  Quilljar 11:36 14 Oct 2010

I have Googled for the answer to the above question because I want to send some videos I have made to my brother who does not possess a computer, but does have an ordinary DVD player attached to his TV
However none of the the video converters I have tried have a straightforward way of doing this.
Can anyone help me to get some .wmv and .mpg files onto a playable DVD?

Why not use "Windows Movie Maker" which you may have on your PC.

Dooes it matter what kind of DVD one uses for playing in a proper DVD player?
I have been using DVDRW discs and a friend has suggested that they will never play on a DVD player...

They will play but will degrade quicker I would suggest DVD-R
