I have a .wmv file that I want to burn to a DVD so that i can play itr on a stand alone DVD player. When i do a straight burn to DVD i can play it on the computer but not on the DVD player. How do I convert the file so that it can play on a DVD player?

You need to finalise the DVD with a programme such as Nero or Easy Creator by Roxio, or one of the free programmes that are available on the web.

Any music player software such as Itunes Media player etc will burn the track to a CD as an audio file.

Most stand alone DVD players will also play mp3 files. Again your player may allow you to convert the file to mp3.

He needs to author the file as a DVD (it's a video file - wmv ).
Finalising it won't do anything!
I don't use it but doesn't Windows Movie Maker do this ?

Must get my eyes tested.

What burning software? Nero?

Just go to Nero smart Start and select "Make your own DVD Video, then add the files you want
