Hi Guys,

I have recently insalled win 98 on a dual boot system on my machine as xp won't run some of my fav old games. The one I miss the most is 'The 7th Guest'. I tried to install it and got the message Not enough conventional mem. Its only 3k but I can't for the life of me remember how to free up more. Can you help me please?

Dave

Boot your system with a boot floppy to a DOS prompt.

At the prompt, type memmaker

So your line will look like this;

C:\>memmaker

Press "Enter" and let it run.

This should extract the most available conventional memory.

If you still can't run your game, your into looking at what's loading at start, and minimizing your configuration.

Thanks Lastchip, although I remembered the memmaker command I forgot how to get into Dos proper. Will give it a go.

Cheers
dave.
