hi,i have had a nightmare with talk talk, lost my internet connection, after about 8 hours off phone calls to level 2 and turning my pc upside down,it finished up with a engineer's visit, who fitted a new master socket and badly corroded outside junction box.

everything seemed fine, but now my desktop has spells where it will not connect and says web page cannot be displayed, when i click on diagnose button it says

reset local area connection adapter.
local area connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration.

using my laptop on same set-up there is no problem
i think it is something that they advised me to change in command prompt.i am using a wired modem and have windows 7 os.can anyone offer any solutions please, nice and simple.thanks.
