Connection issiue

I have
"Never dial a connection" enabled,
but every now and then it automaticaly changes to
"Dial whenever a network connection is not present"

Can anyone shed any light on this please, as this is now starting to annoy me.

I suspect you may have a trojan dialler on your system that is altering the settings to enable it to dial out. This is not a problem if you have a broadband connection and either no dial up modem, or have said modem disabled from within Device Manager.

An online scan at panda may show the presence of such a dialler.

"This is not a problem if you have a broadband connection"

I have BB connection

"and either no dial up modem, or have said modem disabled from within Device Manager."

There is a dial up modem but I have not got it connected to the telephone.

I can't seem to find my Devise Manager Win XP, have you got a link to Panda.

Thanks for the link to A2, already got it installed together with CCcleaner, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spywareblaster, CWshredder

A dialler isn't a problem to those on broadband, however you DON'T want anything remotely like that lurking on your computer. Basically it sounds like a trojan dialler as it is trying to get you connect via a premium rate telephone number (to finance their, usually porn and crimbo, activities). However if a trojan dialler is there, it shows a weakness in your protection, and what else might be lurking there?

There may be another reason for the dial up setting, but nothing comes to mind for me right now, maybe someone else has other ideas?
