Connecting PC to LCD TV problem (DVI to VGA)

  pauljb 11:27 24 Apr 2007

I am trying to connect my brand new Dell PC to my 2yr old Philips LCD TV.

The PC has a VGA output and the TV has a DVI-D dual input.

I have connected a vga cable to the PC and a DVI converter to the other end and into the TV.

After doing this and booting up the pc and changing the tv to PC MODE, all it says is
"No input detected"

Am I doing something wrong - Please HELP!!!

Have you got a one way cable? Some are unidirectional.

I didnt know that you could get any other types!
So I need a bi-directional vga cable do I?

Another thing to try is reset your refresh rate to 60 Hertz before connecting to the tv.

Thanks Payroll2 for reply.

How do I reset the refresh rate? (Sorry to sound thick)!
