Connecting a new laptop to the internet.

Hi guys, hoping someone can help me with this please.

I've bought my husband this laptop for his b'day click here and want to get it up and running ready to use. Installing the drivers, etc. is not a problem but I'm not sure how to connect it wirelessly to the internet.

We're with BT (leaving them is not an option at the moment) on a wired router but would like to go wireless. I'm looking at this one click here but further down the page they say I also need a BT Voyager 1065 Wireless Laptop Adapter which is not available from them, but I can get one elsewhere.

Question is, do I need this adapter or is one already in the laptop?

Thanks for reading.

most laptops have a wireless card installed, if not any wirelss card will do to connect to BT, and you can also get a usb wireless adaptor.

There is one already installed in that laptop, Little Flower.

Thanks for your answers. Just the router it is then!

Just to let you know I've got it connected ok, it took a bit of jiggling to get it all set up. Desktop connected fine using the wireless router, laptop, using vista, took phoning BT's tech help to discover that sometimes you need to change the channel number to get a connection. Oh, well all set up now, & hubby is well pleased with his pressie!
