Connecting analogue video camera to pc

I want to connect my analogue video camera to my pc running XP pro. Where can I get the correct usb cable. I already have video software prog. & know I can use MS movie maker. Do I need any other hardward. I have Nvidia video card with 32 Mb ram. PC is PIII 1Gb machine with 384 ram & 30Gb HD

you can find loads on this topic in here - just do a couple of searches in Helproom.

Basically you need a TV Card (£40+) such as Hauppauge or Pinnacle, make sure its got phono video and audio in connections (yellow - video, red/white - audio) or s-video if you use it (round with a few pins).

one more thing...do you want to edit it then put it back onto the camcorder or onto CD/DVD etc? as you will need slightly different gear to put it back onto the 'corder. the link i gave you does capture only.
