Connected but not working

Hi, I am connected to my TalkTalk account with my PC upstairs but everytime I try and start my browser I get the following error "PAGE LOAD ERROR. CONNECTION INTERRUPTED THE DOCUMENT CONTAINS NO DATA THE NETWORK LINK WAS INTERRUPTED WHILE TRYING TO NEGOTIATE A CONNECTION. PLEASE TRY AGAIN. Though the connection never seems to drop on the systray icon.

I am running XP proffesional, any ideas? any way I can try and connect all over again as I havent seem to need to enter the passkey I entered it manually but I have a feeling this may be the problem, unsure about this though. Thanks in advance

Try deleting the existing wireless "profile" which Windows has saved and then go through the procedure to Connect again. You should be prompted for the encryption key and, once connected, a new "profile" will be saved.

How you delete the profile depends whether you're using Windows' Wireless Zero Configuration or software provided with the Wireless Network Adapter.

If using Wireless Zero Configuration, go into the Network Connections folder ("Start > Run", type ncpa.cpl and click OK), right click the Wireless Network Adapter and select Properties. Click the Wireless Networks tab, highlight the profile (Preferred network) that matches your router's SSID and click the Remove button.

Yep, remove existing wireless network profile and test to connect again. If possible don't enable wireless encryption on wireless router temporary until your computer could connect without problem.
