Connect XP to Vista PC - Video Transfer

  Maiden. 14:49 04 Aug 2007

I need to transfer a lot of video files (about 70gb) from my 5 year old Evesham PC (XP) to my new Compaq (Vista).

I'd like to do this in one go by simply connecting the two machines with a cable, but I've heard I need network cards in both PC's to do this.

Can you tell me how I find out if my PC's have a netwrok card, what cable I then need and also if I can connect and transfer by cable without network cards being installed (just in case).

Thanks for all your help as always

One or both PCs has probably got them insalled.

If not you will need two Ethernet Network cards. Or you could purchase an external hard drive.

Check to see if anywhere on both PCs have got a port like this click here

Just glad to help. What method did/are you going to use?
