Can anyone tell me what this is. It comes up when I load the computer. Not sure what it means, if I need to fix it and how to fix it.

Thanks in advance,

It means what it says. Your hard drive is ATA 100 or ATA 133 which needs an 80way IDE cable to get the best out of it but you have it connected with a 40 way cable. Replace your present IDE cable with an 80way one and the message will disappear.

In addition to what Eric10 suggests, the message you are getting occurs if the IDE cable is installed the correct way round. It is convention that the BLUE plug goes to the motherboard.
