Concurrent Explorer Users on Same Computer

  MUWarrior 19:17 13 Sep 2007

Our operating system is Windows XP. If a user is logged on to a site through internet explorer and another user comes to the computer and switches users to the new user, the new user cannot use internet explorer until the first user closes all open internet explorer windows? All other programs, both users can use simultaneously, ie Excel, Word. This is a home computer.

An interesting point. Can you open a different browser, eg. Opera?

Explorer is the only browser we use.

Do you mean it drops the connection? Install TweakUI, under Logon tick `Keep RAS connections afer logoff`.
Only applies if you use dialup or ADSL broadband.

I downloaded Opera and two users can use it at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to establish my old multiple tabs to connect to multiple sites right away; not to mention the ease to import favorites.

Thanks again.
