Computer virus help

Y computer has a virus and to remove it, I have been advised to wipe my computer and reinstall everything. I have 90gb of files not backed up and to move them to an external hard drive would take 11hrs - what can I do?

Give more details such as the Operating System, security software and symptoms/name of virus/malware. Anything that might give a clue to the forum members so they can try to help. As it is now no-one can be much of a help.

Run Superantispyware in safe mode first. Reboot then run malwarebytes. See what they get rid of.

Check programs and features for any unknown program/s installed then uninstall.

Backing up your files to an external drive at this point is likely to also copy the virus over as well.

MSE is poor get a decent antivirus Avira and Avast are two good free ones. ADWCleaner from Bleeping computer web site will get rid of your add ons

Run hitmanpro (free for 30 days) to get rid of your current infection

Thanks for the help, the virus has gone. I have now got MalwareBytes Premium and Avast. However I wiped my PC with DBAN and after re installing windows 7 premium, i tried to connect to the internet. It said that "Windows didn't detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver.'

After downloading a network adapter driver and running it, it said that No intel(r) adapters are present in the computer.

In system information under problem devices it says '

Ethernet Controller PCI\VEN10EC&DEV8168&SUBSYSE0001458&REV06\4&14E2715C&0&00E4 The drivers for this device are not installed.

PCI Simple Communications Controller PCI\VEN8086&DEV1C3A&SUBSYS1C3A1458&REV04\3&11583659&0&B0 The drivers for this device are not installed.

SM Bus Controller PCI\VEN8086&DEV1C22&SUBSYS50011458&REV04\3&11583659&0&FB The drivers for this device are not installed.

What can I do to connect to the internet??

Thanks in advance :)
