Computer freeze

Whenever i play music on my computer, it seams to lock up. Any ideas?

Are you trying to play a cd. What is your operating system and what progeam are you using to play it with... eeg winamp or mediaplayer..

Windows XP pro, mp3 mainly using both winamp and mediaplayer

Log on as admin...

Start > Contol Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Look at the "system" and "Application" logs...

Look for "ERROR" and "APPLICATION HANG" double click the click the link within the log and it should take you to the MS site where you will be told about the probelm and given a possible fix.

Put your windows CD into the CD ROM and hold the shift key (the one with arrow pointing up, just above the Ctrl key on the left of your keyboard). Holding shift for a few seconds will stop the Windows CD from auto running, but the drive will still spin up to read the disk then spin back down again. Once it has spun down you can release the shift key.

Now click Start/All Programs/Accessories and choose Command Prompt. Type in

sfc /scannow

and hit enter. This will check and replace any damaged system files.
