This computer fails to recognise processor upgrade

This computer was originally supplied with an Asus A7A266-E and an AMD 1800. Due to the failure of the motherboard and processor you asked and I agreed to you upgrading to Asus A7N8X and AMD2400. This was done and returned to me on 26-Jun-03
I find after having to format and reinstall Windows, that under devices the processor is said to be an 1800. AsusProbe states that it is running at 1500 but that the maximum speed is 3000. Why? I would have expected it to be around 2100.
At the time I asked whether the recovery disc was still suitable. Could this be the reason that the computer fails to recognise the AMD 2400.
Please what is the answer?

Enter the bios and pick the advanced tab. Then pick the advanced chipset features. The cpu external freq. should be set to 133Mhz. Change it to this and press F10 to save settings and reboot. click here

Your computer should say a 2400+ with a 2Ghz clock speed. Hopefully:-)
