computer 100%

Hi there my computer has been running slow for a few days , I have an intel 1.3 proccessor and am using wndows xp pro plus BT Yahoo Broadband 1mb I have checked task manager and found a few proccesses that are jumping to and from 100% usage .... System Idle Process , winlogon.exe are the too main factors in the usage being so hi are these necessities or can they be removed ?

System Idle Process and winlogon.exe are part of the XP operating system!
You couldn't delete them even if you tried!
If you DO attempt to end the process then Task Manager displays the following message "This is a critical system process. Task Manager can not end this process."

As regards 'System Idle Process' I think you are looking at the CPU column and if it shows 86 you are thinking that it means that you are at 86% CPU load where as in fact you are only at 13%.

The only time to worry is when the 'System Idle Process' is at 0 as then the CPU is flat out!
