Cold Cathode Install

  Jarhead 15:08 13 Jul 2008

Hi Everyone,

I recently bought some cold cathode tubes in white and installed one set with no problems in the PC. The second pair i thought I would put in the trunk of the car feeding from the rear light there. One of the tubes lights up fine with no problem, the other wont. This one is on the longer wire (about 5feet under the trunk mat) but there is current there which I can feel with my fingers. Its not the tube as they both work when put into any of the connections from the inverter.

Is there a distance that the cathode won't work due to perhaps resistance or voltage drop? Do I even need the inverter in the car as it's already 12volt?

(not really a PC question, sorry, but I was at a loss as to where to post).
