clone hard drive

Hi all, my hard drive is on its last legs,i have a new one available and would like to copy the entire hard drive to the new one. i am running win xp. can someone advise of the procedure. i have a copy of norton ghost.my main concern is the procedure to format the new hard drive and then clone it.

No need to format the new drive as Ghost does everything for you. Just create a bootable floppy via Ghost (take it you have installed on your system already). Shutdown and attach the new drive - suggest you put it on the secondary IDE channel (ie unplug the IDE cable from the CDRom drive and attach it to your new HDD). Put the floppy in the floppy drive and power up. Then just click on the relevant entries on the screen. And then, as they say, Bob's your uncle (well in my case it's true!!)
