clock not keeping the right time

please help. my computer for some reason not keeping the correct time. the clock seem to be running slow. does it need a new battery.

It is nearly always the case that a slow clock is a sign that the CMOS battery on the motherboard is due for replacement.

It is a fairly simple task and you shouldn't have too much difficulty carrying it out.

As always, it is wise to make sure you have your computer backed up and make a note of the BIOS settings before doing this.

Go into Control Panel > Date and Time and reset the
clock time. It may just be a glitch. Many PC clocks
aren't all that accurate. If it continues to lose time then try replacing the CMOS battery. These batteries last for years. Some of my older PC's still have the original M/B and still the same batt after six years.
