Clean Up Tips

Comes up from time to time so here for useful clean up tips.

1) Norton AV - click here Rnav2003.exe is a utility that helps you uninstall program files and registry entries that were installed by NAV 5.0/2000/2001/2002/2003. Only use Rnav2003.exe when you cannot uninstall NAV through Add/Remove Programs.

2 Norton Personall Firewall / Internet Security - click here When you uninstalled Norton Internet Security (NIS) or Norton Personal Firewall (NPF) through Windows Programs list or Add/Remove Programs, the process failed. You want to use the Symantec Rnis.exe removal tool to uninstall NIS or NPF.

3) Windows Installer Clean Up - Microsoft has created the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, which you can use to safely remove Windows Installer-related registry settings from your computer if a problem occurs

4) Office Clean Up - This one is on your Office CD.

Owt it finds send to the bin, reboot and if everything is ok empty the bin.

Oh and best to remove the programs via Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs first..

More and more programs are provided with their own uninstall facility either loaded with the program, on the program disk or on the associated website.

The best method of removing programs is to use the uninstall facility if provided.The Windows Add/Remove facility should only be used as second best if there is no other method.

The Windows Add / Remove facility starts the built in uninstaller....

These tools are for when the Uninstaller fails...
