clean install of vista

before vista, i had xp.
got asus m2v motherboard and the cd that came with this is for xp, not vista.
i decided to do a clean install rather than upgrade, so before this i went to the asus uk site and downloaded realtec audio driver, attansic l1 ethernet controller and the chipset files.
reinstalled vista no problem and realtec and the chipset installed no problem but the attansic ethernet controller will not install.
so i opened the device manager and inside the atansic has got a triangle against this and also unknown device in other devices has got a triangle against that as well. i presume the unknown device will be the network controller but i am now stuck and dont know where to go from here.

try installing the XP drivers for the attansic ethernet controller and see if you get the same error.

it has just tried to load it then has come up with "driver inf file not found "

i think i am going to put xp back on and upgrade over the top of it.
