Chromebook help please

I have a new Chromebook which I'm very pleased with, except that it has an annoying habit.

Every time I switch it on I get an error message saying "cannot connect to the internet"; a refresh gets rid of the message instantly, and all is then fine.

How can I "get under the bonnet" and kill this message for good?

It could be just slow to connect or your Anti Virus program may be causing a delay.

Thanks for your response Northumbria.

I had a nose around in the settings; instead of closing all open windows before shutting down,I've now set it to resume last session on start up. This seems to have fixed it (fingers crossed!).
