Choosing a laptop for a young photographer

  lesava 18:28 26 Sep 2009

Can anyone give any advice for my teenage daughter who is getting her first laptop. Apart from wanting to store lots of music, she is also an aspiring photographer and will want to store hundreds of photos and do some photo editing. Any advice on a suitable spec for a limited budget (under £450) would be really helpful.

Many thanks

hi jane laptops traditionaly dont have very big hard drives you maybe be better with a desktop pc but if you really dont want that you could buy a laptop with a smaller drive which is cheaper and buy a good size external drive currys have a very good range of laptops as do tesco you would prob be looking at a drive btwn 160gb and 250gb i would suggest getting a machine with a graphics card if your daughters going to do alot of photo editing currys have a nice acer machine with a 250gb drive 4gb ram and a niveda graphics card for 400 and a 500gb seagate external drive costs 50 quid that would give you plenty of storage and power for photo editing.
