Recently my daughters laptop has started running the CHKDSK checks on the C drive.

I have run search and found quite a lot of useful advcie on how to stop CHKDSK but before we take any such measures could somebody provide a simple explaination of why it runs and what may have caused it to suddently start to run recently?

Faulty Memory can be the cause, Try running it from My Computer right click the C:\ Drive Properties Tools put a tick in the box to Auto Correct Errors

That was a quick response!

I will get her to give that a go and will let you know if the problem persists.
