I have recently started to get the following message appear when I boot up a cold machine. "Warning: Your computer CHIP Fan Fail or speed too low... You can also disable this warning message in SETUP" I have had the computer checked. It is not overheating and the fans are working correctly. I have Windows XP home operating system. Can anybody advise me what I can do to sort this. At the moment I have to press F1 and then the computer will bypass the message and boot up as normal.

You don't happen to have an Asus A8N Sli Deluxe mobo do you?

I have just had the same problem. Noise like a cat in a woodchipped from the machine then the exact same message.

My Chipset fan had failed.

Just replaced it with a Zalman chipset heatsink (MB47J I think) and disabled the chipset fan warning in the BIOS.

Works like a dream and cuts the noise from the case by half.
