Changing the size of the URL bar

  MIKE. 08:39 27 Mar 2010

I have a Dell Studio laptop running windows 7 and a Dell HD screen running at 1920 x 1080 screen. I would like to know how to change the size of Tool bar/URL bar height not width without changing screen resolution. The reason I wish to change the height is because the URL Bar seems quite small. Many thanks

There are ways to increase the height of the URL bar by dropping code userChrome.css file. This line should be added to Firefox userChrome.css file. The URL bar expands to take the bigger text:-

/*Change address bar font, color and size*/
#urlbar {
font-family: Tahoma Bold !important;
color: Black !important;
font-size: 12pt !important; }

Alternatively (and more easily), just install the following extension "Make Address Bar Font Size Bigger 1.0.0":-

click here

Again, making the text bigger increases the URL bar height.

I'm not aware of a method to achieve what you want in IE. Tbh, I avoid IE.
