Hi, my modem router is on the way out and a friend has let me one to try but it's for use with BT and they are not my ISP. Is there a way of changing the settings or is it a lost cause, thanks.
I think it it should'nt matter? What is the make and model number of the router?
It's a DGN834N, I've been trying for a while now and got in touch with my ISP and the advisor there reckoned it wouldn't recognise the password because it was a BT dedicated router.
Possibly try here
Try the following:- Step 1
Log in to the router setup page at click here (username: admin password: password)
On the left menu, click on ADSL settings
Enter the following information you should have been given to you by your ISP:
On the left menu, click on Basic Settings
Enter the following information:
Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login: Yes
Password: Enter your password.
IP Address: Choose Get Dynamically from ISP.
Domain Name Servers: Choose Obtain Automatically from ISP.
Hopefully that will work?
Thanks Press Man, worked.
Thanks for the update. Glad to be of assistance.
