its really easy if the CPU is right for your motherboard. You well need some heat-sink by the way. The most difficult part is getting off/putting back on the CPU fan. ive broken 2 motherboard CPU fan clips by pressing too hard

download this program click here and it should tell you your name of your motherboard

its really easy if the CPU is right for your motherboard.....yes and now what ??? how is it easy???

plus my fan is a screw on version.

And surely the old CPU has a heatsink? the new chip is the same size [in measurement area of the chip i mean]

its easy in the way that u take ur fan off...remove the old cpu....place the new 1 in, add the heat sink if not already there then replace ur fan....thats how easy it is!!!

if you go on the asus web site and look for your motherboard it will tell you the max cpu you can install you dont want to go rushing in and it not fit

I feel that, as you are having to ask so many questions about this procedure, you may be better not doing it.

so if its ok and im sure it will be, the man in the shop seeemed to think it would, but even if i need to go for one of a slightly different spec, what problems, if any am i likely to incur, & are they easily sorted?
