cdrw problems after upgrade

Since I have upgraded to xp my External Freecom classic cd writer keeps playing up - when I am copying photos onto cd it will stop half way through or eject or ask me to insert a disk - I don't think it is compatible with xp but Freecoms website doesn't seem to have an update -any ideas please - I have already lost my nephews wedding photos because the disk will not load anymore.

Did you reinstall the XP drivers for it?

What model CD Writer is it?

Have you tried a different brand of media?

ISOBuster MIGHT be able to recover data on trashed CDs....

The disk that came with it is for win98/me/2000
Where do I get a xp driver for it
It is Freecom Classic (usb) external cdrw
I use easy cd creator 5 and have updated the driver for that and it works ok
I will try ISOBuster thanks

My dvd drive wont load the disk either - it ejected before the session was finalized
