Cd Rom Drive

  pl 11:17 08 Nov 2003

I am using Windows 98. When I tried to run a CD,it wouldn't work. I looked in My Computer and Device Manager but the Drive wasn't shown. I have cheked the connections and tryed adding new hardware but still no luck. I think its to do with the BIOS, what do I look for. Any help would be great. Thanks

Get into the bios ( press Delete on bootup Usually)depending on Motherboard type ..Standard Cmos setup set all IDE listings that are set now as NONE to auto

Youve added this Cdrom drive to your computer yourself ?

No, it was working and the draw will open and shut, then the light goes on then goes off and nothing happens.
p.s I went into BIOS and the IDE listings were already set as auto.
