Have just purchsed a double Max Richter CD , Voyager and on examination it is not protected. Have just looked at the music lists in Microsoft Mediua Player and all tracks etc are shown in what appeatrs to be either Chinese or Japanese. When trhe CDs are looked at in Explorer, thet are just shown as I would expect Track1 Track2 etc. Anyonoe know why this is and can it be corrected somehow. Thanks.

That happens sometimes. Either Media Player misreads the CD info or it reads it correctly but gives you foreign language track names. Or perhaps that CD was intended for sale in Asia.

In Media Player right-click the album artwork and choose "Find album info" and see if it offers you anything better.

If that doesn't help then you can rename the tracks yourself in Media Player and they will be added to the music files permanently. You can either right-click a track and choose "Edit" or do a long double-click. You will find it easier to copy and paste the track names (and album art if you want) from somewhere like here.

Thanks for the resp[onse SS. It appears to be a Windows Media Player thing as I have just tried another CD Rip program Express Rip CD and all is as it should be. Very odd.
