Can anyone tell me why a straight thru Cat 5 cable has the green cables seperated?

I am wondering as i have made my own and they work fine but i made them purely straight thru....

BL > BL
BR > BR
GR > GR
OR > OR

Now i have looked at a moulded straight thru and as i say the greens have been split...

Any ideas?

You will need Adobe Reader from:

Untick the Google bar option if you don't want it!

The Greens are split to suit the layout of the coonectors. They are not split in the actual cable - they are a twisted pair.

So from that PDF i gather that to split the greens / oranges on a straight thru cable is a completely pointless exercise.....
