capital lock - audible warning

  machins 10:51 25 May 2005

Many times I have accidentally left the capital lock key on, typed something, only to realise that I had left the key on, and have to retype the whole lot!!
I think I have seen an add on where if the caps lock key is on and you hit a key you get an audible warning?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's not an add on. It is in your OS but I can't remember. I think that it could be in Tools.

Control Panel, Accessibility Options, Use Toggle Keys.

Go to the control panel and click on the "Accessibility" icon. At the bottom of the new window there should be an option to enable "Togglekeys." Click it and off you go!

Hope this helps :)

Need to learn to type quicker! :P

That is fine but perhaps I did not explain the problem clearly. Is there something that can warn you when you press any letter key that the Caps lock is on?

It may save tiome if, when you make the mistake and you are using MS Word, go to Format--> Change case and selct the most useful option. (Having first selcted the block of text, of course).
