try clicking 'start/control panel/system/advanced/start up and recovery/settings' and untick 'automatically restart' now instrad of a restart you should see an error displayed instead. what is it please? or look it up by typing it into the search box click here

if that doesnt help try working your way through this to find out the problem maybe click here

start the computer up in safe mode (keep tapping F8 when you switch on and select it from the list)

once in safe mode click start/turn off and see it it shuts down......maybe.

if it shuts down ok when in safe mode then this i think should let you know if its driver or software related maybe.

sorry guessing here.

sorry i just re read your first posting again. what do you mean by "have to press button at the right time" please?

What I mean about press the button is the power button after windows has shut down and just before it starts up again

very strange. try shutting down from within safe mode as i suggested maybe just to see what happens.

it could be a dodgy power suppily maybe but i would try the above safe mode and shutdown first. still just guessing sorry.
