Can't remove all Trojanhunter 4.5, help!!

  gazmix 10:19 25 Sep 2006

I removed Trojanhunter 4.5 via add/remove programmes, & it dissapeared from the list!, but when i recently clicked on search & files & folders & typed in trojan, it found Trojanhunter 4.5 & it couldn't be deleted to recycle bin!
Does anyone know how i get rid totally!

I followed VoG™'s advice regarding the use of Unlocker and it works really well.

After you've removed the stubborn remnants, it wouldn't do any harm to run a registry cleaner such as RegSeeker (free) click here. I'll guess that it will pick up some bits that you may have missed.

I downloaded unlocker & ran it & Trojanhunter didn't come up, just iexplorer twice, mailwasher & a couple of other things.
It's a very quick process, i just double clicked on the desktop shortcut & up came a box with a list of things, Trojanhunter not being one or them !!

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode(tap F8 as system boots..or F5 on some systems) and deleting from there?

VOG, i tried that site & couldn't locate it anywhere on my pc after i set it up.
I normally put it on my desktop, so i know where it is, but it wouldn't go there!

I rebooted in safe mode & got this when i searched manually for it! I tried to delete Trojanhunter4.5 & i got a box saying:-

cannot delete contmenu.dll: access denied
make sure disk is not full or write protected & that field is not currently in use!

Does this shed any light?

If you mean click here you right click the file and Remove on reboot should appear in the pop-up menu.

I installed this & have delreb_setup 1 on my desktop.
I right click on it as you say & it does say 'Remove on next reboot', but nothing about trojanhunter4.5 & the contmenu.dll:
