If still using Windows XP, Maxthon provides the best combination of features and security updates.

IE8 was the last version to work on Xp and that is now very insecure.

Just tried installing Maxthon on my freshly installed XP machine. It didn't want to know. Which version are you running. Also, which AV do you have on your XP machine?

Not used the XP machine for about a year now, surprised Maxthon no longer installs.

Use to use Zonealarm and Avast but not really bothered now as only use it for a couple of specialise programs for work purposes.

Don't have an XP PC but, for many years, I had a '98se PC in the loft that was kept for the sole purpose of running a SCSI Scanner.

Toward its end, it would have been complete lunacy to connect it to the net and start surfing, although it had been 15 tears before

I'm just playing with it and was curious to try Maxthon after your comments. I can't get drivers for W10 for my scanner, which I'm loathe to replace as I use it so rarely. I found something a while back that claimed to have basic drivers for W10 but I've lost the link.

Which scanner? I got my Canonscan 8800f to work in W10 by using it in W7 compatibility mode

It's an HP Scanjet 3500c. Currently scanning my favourites looking for that elusive link.

Found it My scanner's listed so I'll give it a go later on.
