Can't find cables for camcorder to PC to make DVD

  spicc26 09:19 02 Feb 2007

I have a Sharp VL-A10 analouge camcorder and I want to connect to PC so I can record the 8mm video tape tp do I do this & what cords. Everything I ahve read says a firewire cord but the camera doesn't have that socket only a video socket & an audio socket that is it. Computer end is all ok. Am I better of buying a cheap DVD player & connecting that way???

When you say the "Computer end is all ok." what do you have for input?

You'll need something like this - click here. You should have had an AV cable when you bought the camcorder that is used to plug it into a TV or video (it has a yellow plug and a white plug). You use this cable to connect the camcorder to the capture device then plug the capture device into a USB port.
