Can't delete mail folders in Outlook Express 6

  polymath 20:28 04 Oct 2003

I know I can't delete the 5 that OE includes, but I created some, got in a muddle & want to delete them & start again.

Following OE Help, I clicked one in the folders list (am I right in thinking it means the list I get via View, Go to folder?) It says to then click File menu, point to the folder & click Delete. But when I have the folder list up, File etc. at the top are greyed out.

Any ideas?

You can't do it in the go to folder under the view menu.

Just have your normal OE display up, make sure your folder list is expanded to show the folder you want to delete there, then right click and delete - or just press the delete key on the keyboard.

If that doesn't work we've got a deeper problem!

View Menu, Layout, Check Folder List is checked. OK

Then right click and delete from the tree that appears on the left of the screen.

As Chris the Ancient says you can't delete from the place you are trying.

Many thanks, both.

The folder list (which I hadn't yet learned about) wasn't checked, so I did it, & deleted them OK.

Wow - resolved before it even slipped off page 1!

I liked that query - it was one that I could cope with - for a change :o))
