I drag and drop any files (word/pdf etc) into my DVD burner (on Sony vaio laptop) and it simply comes up with 'Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file'. I'm running XP Pro and have never had this problem before. I have to burn about 2GB of files to DVD by tomorrow morning. Any advice?
TIA,
James

The problem I have discovered is actually the DVDs. It works fine with CDRs but not the DVD-Rs I use (have been using for ages with no problems until now). I'm stumped.

Can only suggest try a different brand. Or remove the Drive from Device Manager and reboot for it to be reconfigured if that does not work try removing the Software like NERO from Add Remove in control panel, the do a search for NERO and remove all that it finds reboot then reinstall NERO or whatever Burning software you use
