Can't access my external Seagate Drive

  SidCowans33 21:38 13 May 2017

I have an external Seagate Drive that shows up in my Windows 10 desktop Device Manager under Disk Drives as "Seagate Desktop USB Device" and it states "Working Correctly" but it doesn't show as a drive in Explorer/MyPC.

I can feel vibrations suggesting the drive is alive and the drive light is on but I can't get to it.

Have tried different USB connections without change. Have tried uninstalling and rebooting without change.

Any ideas ?

Go into disk management, if it the drive does not have a letter assigned to it right click on the drive and select change drive letter and path to assign a drive letter.

have you tried device manager to see if any yellow exclamation marks universal serial bus controllers.

Yes - nothing wrong anywhere in Device Manager.

Sadly, I have to conclude the drive is dead !
