Can't access DVD Rom

I have a packard bell library dvd rom whidh I got with my packard bell computer I want to install some of the programs on my other computer but I can't access it or the autorun that worked on the packard bell pc does not work is there something I am missing, both machines are running xp home ****help***

If your dvd rom works ok with other cd's you will be able to run/start the cd from the my computer, control panel, rt click on the dvd drive and choose run. But your question is not very clear!

Go to Device Manager and see if DMA is active, there will be a tick in the box if it is. if not put one in and try it. if there is already a tick in the box remove it and retry computer
