canon printer bjc2000 waste ink pad renewal

  korny 12:16 02 Jul 2003

having got the message that the ink pad needs renewing have done this but get this message and unable to use printer how can I tell computer ink pad now renewed

I'd be inclined to un-install it and then re-install it.
If that doesn't clear it then I'd search the registry for some reference to the printer's Ink pad and change the number (if you can find one) from 1 to 0.

It is possible that the printer itself needs telling it has a new inkpad. This would probably require a service program. Try speaking to Canon. They maybe able to help.

1: Remove the Cartridge

2: Unplug the AC Power Cord

3: Close Front access panel

3: Hold down the RESUME/RESET button and plug in the AC power cord

4: Release RESUME/RESET after plugging in the AC Power cord

5: Press the RESUME/RESET once within 5 seconds and release the RESUME/RESET

6: Press and HOLD RESUME/RESET for two seconds or more and release it

7: Press and HOLD RESUME/RESET for two seconds or more and release it

Is this Waste error reset method relevant to my Canon s630 bubble jet printer- seems a very complex operation, where did you get the info from? Thanks David

Don't know about the s630. I have a 2000 myself as a second printer used mainly for text(cheap ink. My main printer is HP)

1. Where did you get a replacement ink pad from, and was it easy to fit?

2. Where did you get the procedure to "reset the printer" from?

Thanks David
