Canon i850 printer

Evening all,

Can anyone tell me whether the USB connection of this printer is 1.0 or 2.0. According to the PCA review it is 2.0 but I can`t find this confirmed on the Canon site. The review on states that it is USB full speed (whatever that is!)

TIA Andy

Unless you are printing a novel at one sitting.

They are compatible in both directions. Parallel, which I use, is slower and that only takes a couple of seconds per page to load the initial file.

The difference it could make is if I buy a USB1 cable and it uses USB2!!

I bought a new one last week, I have tried parallel & usb both ways. I can't really say that there seems to be much difference in any. The only advantage I could see is that USB is easier to fit.

Can you tell me if the USB is 1 or 2?

No problem, as USB1 and 2 are backwards compatable. As mentioned above, I doubt that USB2 would make much difference with a printer anyway, mine is a S630 model on USB1 and it is very speedy.

I used 2, but I don't think it makes any difference at all.

...oh and I nearly forgot where did you buy it ,how much and what`s it like?

  andyhuz 22:09 16 Jul 2003

I don`t suppose it came with a cable anyway??

I am not able to do a comparative test but it is quieter and faster than my Accountants fancy HP. But I am not going to tell him that, he's only just bought it.

I bought at at £155.10 delivered. It was delivered the next day, & I think it's brilliant. Having said that I don't have much experience with printers, I have only had three in my life & one of those was lent to me. Look at click here for replacement cartridges, my friend gets his there & they are really cheap like less than half price at PC World & no problems
