Canon BJC S750

I have been using the above printer on my PC (Vista) for about 18 months to 2 years and suddenly it has stopped working. The green light flashes when I send a document to be printed, it starts to print but stops immediately. 'Error' then appears on my screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer but I am advised that there are known problem in Vista with this printer - why now after all this time? The ink tanks are full. I cannot find my manual so I cannot look in the troubleshooting guide. I did try going on the internet and downloading a guide, however, the Canon manual site was not working. Can anyone help?

Canons usually flash green and then yellow. You have to count the number of flashes. Then report back. David

Does it not give an error number on the screen?
