Cannot send email via b-band-What is wrong?

  Kooji 09:56 31 Mar 2010

Hi all
I have logged my laptop onto another users wireless system (with their permission of course)I put in the access code and all seems fine. I can use the internet ( which I'm using now) but when I try to send emails I get an immediate response from the system administrator saying: "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.Relaying denied"
What do I need to do to rectify this problem?
Many Thanks

Are you using Outlook Express? If so, use webmail instead

I am on Outlook Express. I do have a Yahoo(which I use in emergencies) account. But I really need to use Outlook for now.

But what is the name of your ISP for the messages you download to Outlook Express? Eg [email protected]

You will have to go to that ISP's webmail site instead of using OE.

If you want to use Outlook Express then you will have to change your SMTP server settings to reflect the network you are logged on to. Then you'll have to change it back again when you return home. Much easier to use the webmail as said before.

Sea Urchin

Yes It seems it's not worth the hassel I'll just do as you and ame suggested.

Many Thanks for your prompt replies.

Sea Urchin is quite correct. When staying away from home in an hotel with free Internet access, I receive my e-mails in Outlook Express normally.

However, to send messages I must use my ISP webmail service.
